Ahmed Dickinson at London English Song Festival 2013

This opening concert at the Forge will explore the intriguing contrast between music written for voice and guitar, and for voice and piano. The feautured composers are Benjamin Britten, Lennox Berkeley and the less well known Mathias Seiber, a Hungarian who adopted England as his country 1955. Ahmed Dickinson will collaborate with mezzo soprano Katie Bray and tenor Rupert Charlesworth

The London English Song Festival was founded by award - winning pianist William Vann to promote and celebrate the performance and knowledge of the wide and varied repertoire of English Song in London and Throughout the U.K.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES 2013

With many exciting collaborations Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas is rounding up a busy start to 2013. His performances will start later this month - 30th January - at the Walton Hall (Manchester) with cellist Li Lu performing the Arpeggione Sonata by Schubert amongst other classical and contemporary works. On February 7th, Dickinson Cardenas and Mestizo Trio will continue with their quest through music from Latin America. They will perform a programme including works from their critically acclaimed album The Havana Suite at St Christopher's Hospice (Sydenham), London, as part of the Dame Cicely Saunders concert series. On February 21st, Ahmed will join forces at the Forge Venue with soprano Maya Sapone and pianist Helen Glaisher-Hernandez presenting some of the most exquisite melodies by renowned South American composers such as Enrique Gonzalez Medina, Ariel Ramirez and Carlos Guastavino. Then on March 8th, Dickinson Cardenas returns to St Mary's Hook, Warsash, with violin virtuoso Ben Wragg playing a wide variety of music including works by Bach, Piazzolla and their own arrangements of works by contemporary favourites like Arvo Pärt and John Adams.
