Ahmed Dickinson takes Cuban media by storm 

As part of his recent visit to Cuba Ahmed Dickinson enjoyed a very busy schedule being interviewed by several media outlets and generating interest among music journalists and radio listeners.

Ahmed Dickinson and Luzmira Zerpa opened Juan Luis Guerra's concert at the Royal Albert Hall.


On Monday 14th October, 7:30pm Ahmed and Venezuelan singer Luzmira Zerpa performed before more than 4000 as support act for Juan Luis Guerra in his Royal Albert Hall debut.

Juan Luis Guerra and his band 4.40 have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, won two Grammy awards and 17 Latin Grammys, including one last year for best Contemporary Tropical Album. His big band style blending merengue, bachata and bolero with an Afro-pop/Latin fusion has gained him a huge success across the Spanish-speaking world. To see the pictures, please click here.

Ahmed Dickinson on Belarusian TV

As part of his tour to Belarus Ahmed Dickinson visited the popular TV program OUTLINES, where he introduced some of his favourites pieces to the audience, spoke about his experiences during that week, and shared his insight on the Cuban Guitar Movement. Ahmed Dickinson to play work dedicated to him by Cuban composer Luis Manuel Molina de Varona.

Sonata No1, by Luis Manuel Molina, is subtitled and inspired on "The Valley of Temples" the place of similar name situated in the coastal city of Agrigento, Italy. These temples constitute some of the best-preserved ancient Greek buildings outside Greece itself; and the piece, composed between September 1998 and February 1999, presents four movements with the names of the composer's favorite buildings.

The Greek Temple of Concordia, The Temple of Hera Lacinia, Castor and Polux, & The Labours of Heracles (divided in twelve variations)

The piece, dedicated to " my dearest, young and talented ex pupil, Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson" will be premiered in the UK in 2014.
