Ahmed Dickinson and cellist Li Lu to perform at The Forge Venue.

The collaboration between Chinese cellist Li Lu and guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas has been established with the aim of introducing first-rate contemporary  and rarely heard works for cello and guitar to UK audiences. 

Their current repertoire, to be introduced in Manchester on 7th and 8th September and in London on 28th October is an excellently balanced variety of styles stemming from Spain and France to South America and even Asia. Expect  fearsome, virtuosic, sad, introspective and electrifying.

Ahmed Dickinson to perform with soprano Joanna Marie Skillett.

Ahmed Dickinson has been invited to perform Heitor Villa-Lobos' Bachiannas Brasileiras No 5 with British soprano Joanna Marie Skillett at St Martin in the Fields. The recital, organized by Concordia Foundation will be at 1:00pm on 5th October and will include works by R.Strauss, Bridge, Walton and Hahn. Joanna will be also accompanied by pianist William Vann.

Ahmed Dickinson and Santiago Quartet to play at Kings Place 15th September 2012



The Santiago Quartet and Cuban virtuoso guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas joined forces in 2010 to pursue their mutual passion for championing music of Latin origin in the UK and worldwide. Their performances together have been met by universal acclaim and The Latin Perspectives album they launched together in 2011, has caused a stir on the Classical and World Music scenes.

Praised by Gramophone for the ‘obvious chemistry between the musicians’, the disc has already been nominated for a Songlines Music Award for Best Artist for their ‘stellar ability and the sort of musical intuition that makes a good ensemble great.’

Ahmed Dickinson and Ayaka Tanimoto to perform at St James's Piccadilly, London 

  

Ahmed Dickinson, Japanese mezzo-soprano Ayaka Tanimoto and pianist Kumi Matsuo will collaborate in a lunchtime recital at St James's Piccadilly on Monday 13th August, 1.10pm. The repertoire include several works by Spanish composers including Joaquin Rodrigo and Gallardo del Rey.

Ahmed Dickinson and Santiago Quartet to play at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club 30th September 2012

Ahmed Dickinson Cardenas and Santiago Quartet will be performing at Ronnie Scott's on September 30th as part of the second Classical Kicks night. More details to follow, but this promises to be an exciting evening with other wonderful guest appearances. Classical Kicks was launched on April 29th this year by Lizzie Ball and the first event was a huge success, with performances from stellar musicians including pianist Tom Gould, baritone Njabulo Madlala and guitarist Morgan Szymanski.
